would this work?

Size:  31mod x 31mod x31mod when in it's cube/box form
No limits in size once it is deployed/transformed

Unlimited amout of Mindstorms NXT resources allowed
Power Function Linear Actuator, and LED accepted
(3rd party components accepted but not preferred (ex MUX)) under revision)
Use of mechanical contraption to allow multiple functions per motor is encouraged



Robot should have the equivalent of a head, arms, feet and show emotion/ personality
Robot should be autonomous (i.e. not remote controled)

A totally transformable LEGO cube, possible?

The TR³ project blog is launched and the idea is there. Now, we need to know if it is possible to realize! A transformable LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT cube was already built by Bazmarc and his team, it was Wall-E 5. Now,we want to build transformable cubes that won't be Wall-E.

So the main idea for this project is to make a perfect cube-shaped robot that could transform into an adorable creature with lots of personality and ensure it has many interactive feature for kids to play with. Just like Wall-E, but NOT. In fact, try not to think about WALL-E ! Try to... Think outside the box!

But we won't built these cubes alone! We want you to build them, based on only few criteria. The project's framework is what we will work on in the next few days. After that, you will be able to work on this project, if you are interested! We want it very opened and collaborative, so don't be afraid not to present a complete project, just participate!
